Ellen developed a passion for cartoons and drawing in her childhood. As a new kid in a new town, she understood the feeling of not fitting in, and painting proved a refuge for her creative talents. At the age of 15, she painted the first animals and called her new friends: “Nurdys.” After she graduated Amsterdam School of fine Arts, she digitalised the Nurdys. A real character series appeared, and soon she was asked to license her designs on various products. However just recently, she decided to follow her dreams and quit her salaried job as art director/designer to focus solely on her Nurdys friends and her desire to share these friends with people all around the world. From now on, she is working on various initiatives to bring joy and happiness to the world and to inspire kid's creativity and imagination.
